Why intravenous rather than oral
Oral supplementation is subject to absorption limits. The gastrointestinal tract regulates uptake, first-pass hepatic metabolism reduces what reaches circulation, and for several nutrients the achievable plasma concentration through oral intake is bounded regardless of dose.
Intravenous delivery bypasses those constraints, which is why it is used clinically where higher plasma concentrations are the objective or where absorption is compromised.
This is a statement about pharmacokinetics, not about outcomes. IV delivery achieves different concentrations than oral. It does not by itself make anything work better for you.
